Art Deco Ring with Purple Sapphire, size 6.5
Art Deco styling frames a dazzling, large 5mm purple sapphire. The ring is sterling silver, size 6.5. The band features a hammered texture going around the outside. The hand-carved architectural setting is my own original design, created in jewelers' wax and then cast using lost-wax casting. Very limited edition, only a few were ever created and once they are gone, they're gone!

A note about the dark patina: The patina on this ring has been sealed with Renaissance wax, however, it will likely change and evolve with wear. This is intended, and it will take on unique characteristics over time, especially depending on the individual's skin chemistry and how often it is worn. Some people report little change, others seem to change back to silver fairly quickly leaving the dark color only in the recesses. In my opinion, this adds to the uniqueness of the piece. Should cleaning be necessary, buff gently with a soft polishing cloth. If desired, the dark finish can be touched up fairly easily at home by applying a solution of Liver of Sulfur gel mixed with hot water. (This is available through jewelry suppliers.)
